Report on Russian oil output

Russia's oil output amounted to 28.4 mm tons in September, an 8.1 % increase from September of 2000. Oil extraction was 2.7 % less than in August of the current year. In September, gas extraction decreased by 1.6 % and stood at 40.9 bn cm.
Petroleum production was 2.2 mm tons, diesel fuel and fuel oil production was 4.1 mm tons and 4.2 mm tons respectively. Average daily oil extraction rose in 28 out of 34 oil producing regions, particularly in the Samara region (up 20.1 %), the Sakhalin region (19.2 %), the Arkhangelsk region (15.9 %) and the Tyumen region (8.6 %).

Russian oil output totalled 257.46 mm tons from January through September of 2001, a 7.5 % rise from the corresponding figure for last year. Russian oil companies extracted 226.66 mm tons, joint ventures 14.49 mm tons and production-sharing agreement (PSA) operators 1.85 mm tons.
