Poland expresses interest in Iran-Armenia gas pipeline

Poland's caretaker charge d'affaires in Armenia said on February 19 that the Warsaw administration is interested in implementing the Iran-Armenia gas supply project. Petr Iwaszkowicz said that Poland is following up the details of the project that paves the way for transferring gas from Turkmenistan to Armenia and finally to Europe via Iran.

With a length of 140 km, the Iran-Armenia pipeline is expected to cost $ 24 mm. The initial gas transfer of the pipeline amounts to 1 bn cm, with the capacity to be increased to 5 bn cm in 2003.
