Ukraine announces tender to find gas field operator
The Ukrainian government has announced a tender for a license to develop natural gas and gas condensate at the
Vladymyrske gas field in Sumy region, a government spokeswoman said. Interested companies are requested to submit
bids to the tender before March 15, the spokeswoman said.
Overall deposits at the field are estimated at about 200 mm cm of gas and about 70,000 t of gas condensate.
Gas extraction at Vladymyrske gas field was suspended in 1995 due to complicated drilling conditions in the region.
Ukraine increased natural gas extraction by 1.6 % to 18.35 bn cm in 2001, compared with 18.05 bn cm extracted in
2000.
The government forecast Ukraine to increase annual natural gas production to 23-24 bn cm by the year 2010.
