Mar 06, 2002 01:00 AM

Kazakhstan and the United States are getting down to the practical implementation of their Declaration on Energy Partnership. The Kazakh Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said that Senior Adviser of the US Secretary of State on Caspian energy problems, Steve Mann, is to arrive in the Kazakh capital.
He is to discuss with the Kazakh side ways to implement the above-said declaration, which was signed during Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev's visit to Washington in December 2001.

In the course of the upcoming Kazakh-American meeting, the Kazakh side is planning to offer the American colleagues to cooperate in four areas:
-- petroleum and gas complex,
-- energy and nuclear technology,
-- cooperation to prevent weapons proliferation, and
-- protection of the environment.
