Portugal's economy minister said in Lisbon that 2003 will see the beginning of the Mercado Iberico de Electricidad (Mibel), a joint market for the Spanish and Portuguese power sectors.
He added, however, that there were still pending a few questions to solve, such as the creation of an operator for both countries or eliminating the differences between the Spanish and Portuguese regulations, so this could not be guaranteed to happen in January, as initially planned.
