Kazakhstan to see large investments in oil industry

Some $ 11 bn are planned to be invested in the Kazakhstani oil producing industry through 2005, some $ 20 bn in the period from 2006 to 2010 and $ 21 bn in the period from 2011 to 2015, Kazakhstani Energy Minister Vladimir Shkolnik declared in the Kazakhstani parliament on December 9.
He pointed out that the oil production in 2015 is planned to be 150 mm tons, which is 3 mm bpd.

This year the Kazakhstani oil production is forecasted at the level of 47 mm tons, compared to 40 mm tons last year.
In the period from 2003 to 2015, some $ 293 mm will be invested in the uranium production. Investments in the atomic industry will be some $ 2 bn. On the whole, some $ 74 bn are to be invested in the fuel and energy sector until 2015.
