Germany's energy sector set for dramatic change

Germany's energy sector landscape is set for dramatic change over the next few years, according to technology consultants Booz, Allen & Hamilton. It is expected that a number of companies will continue to divide up parts of their business, with reports that more than 50 % of electricity companies among 100 energy companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland have already sold off part of their business, while the figure for gas companies was around 40 %.
This allows for increased co-operation and concentration within the energy sector. In addition, larger companies were trying to boost their market weighting by means of acquisitions.
