Russia reports on oil and gas output in 2002

Russia produced 380 mm tons of oil and 598 bn cm of gas in 2002, Deputy Prime Minister Victor Khristenko said. Oil production in Russia in 2001 amounted to 348 mm tons, he said.

Khristenko noted that oil exports to countries outside the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in 2002 increased to 150 mm tons, while exports to the CIS amounted to 34 mm tons. Russia produced 598 bn cm of gas in 2002, up 2.3 % from 2001.
Gas exports to countries outside the CIS grew 2 % to 129 bn cm over the level in 2001. Khristenko said. Gas exports to the CIS amounted to 55 bn cm.
