Gas Galicia plans expansion

Dec 16, 2003 01:00 AM

Gas Galicia, the gas group based in the Spanish region of Galicia, plans to invest EUR 134 mm between 2004 and 2009 with a view to doubling both the number of customers it has in the region and the size of its distribution network.
Gas Galicia currently has 128,000 clients and 1,200 km of gas pipelines.

The expansion will give 48 % of the Galician population access to the group's services. Investment this year, most of which went towards the distribution network and other infrastructure, amounted to EUR 15 mm.
The first part of the investment plan will focus on extending the Nigran-Bayona-Gondomar network and the facilities in Betanzos and Mino. Gas Galicia is a subsidiary of Spanish gas group Gas Natural.
