The production of petroleum in Angola, in the year 2003, reached satisfactory levels, coming to a total of 950,000 bpd, representing an improvement of 20 % in production rate.
The information was given by the minister of Petroleum, Desiderio Costa, while making a balance of the activities carried out this year, in a ceremony was attended by representatives of the various oil companies operating in Angola.

The minister said that the achievement of these results was possible due to the discovery of eight more commercial regions, in the exploration blocks 15, 17, 31 and 32.
As example the minister states that in block 15 whose exploration activities started on November 1, it was produced 80 thousand bpd of oil, and in block 17 an average of 15 thousand bpd.

These levels of production have been observed in other regions of the country, which have made it possible for the country to export, from January to September, a total of 224.109.612 mm barrels, resulting in revenues for the State of$ 6,252,172,076.20, the minister said.
Desiderio Costa added that, in terms of revenue, the highest income was observed in the exploration area of Cabinda (32 %), corresponding to 1.989.375.622.70.
