Subsea Azeri gas pipeline construction close to completion

Some 160 km of a 28-inch subsea gas pipeline with a total length of 185 km from the Azeri field to the Sangachal terminal has been constructed within Phase 1 of the Central Azeri project.
The laying of the subsea gas pipeline commenced early this January. After accomplishing construction of the gas pipeline, the laying of a new 18-inch oil pipeline with a total length of 11 km, which is to link the gas compressors and water injection wells of the Chirag and Central Azeri fields, will begin.

The installation of the subsea pipeline is scheduled to be fully completed this April. The construction of a 30-inch subsea oil pipeline with a total length of 186 km from the Central Azeri field to Sangachal terminal as part of Phase 1 project was completed late last December.
Another 30-inch subsea oil pipeline with a total length of 186 km from the Central Azeri field to Sangachal terminal will be constructed within Phase 2 (West and East Azeri) project.

The laying of the subsea pipelines under the Azeri project commenced last June. Constructing the pipelines is McDermott Caspian Contractors, contractor of the Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC).
The Israfil Huseynov pipelaying barge and other marine support vessels have been involved in the construction activities. The pipes used for the constructions were produced in Germany and Japan and coated at Eupec PipeCoatings Azerbaijan.
