Kazakhstan raises gas transportation through Russia

Some 28.6 bn cm of gas from Kazakhstan were transported through Russia in the first quarter of 2004, which was 10.7 % higher than in the corresponding period of last year, the Kazakhstani government reported.
The amount of Kazakhstani gas exports was 1.94 bn cm in the first three months of 2004, which was 70.9 % more than in the period from January to March 2003.

The volume of gas reserves in underground gas storage facilities in Kazakhstan was 666.7 mm cm on April 1, 2004.
The republic's gas production advanced 48.3 % to about 2.442 bn cm in the first quarter of 2004.
