BP’s Nam Con Son gas project pumps 2 bn cm of gas

BP Exploration and Operating Company (BPEOC) has announced the Nam Con Son Gas project, the largest foreign oil and gas project in Vietnam, brought ashore 2 bn cm of gas by July 6 after 18 months of operation.
With the pumped gas output, the project has fully met the demand of the gas-fuelled Phu My electricity plant complex, including the Phu My electricity plant 2.1 and the expanded Phu My electricity plant 2.1 with a combined design capacity of 900 MW, the Phu My electricity plant 1 with a capacity of 1,090 MW, and the Phu My electricity plant 3 with a capacity of 716.8 MW.

By the end of this year, the 450 MW Phu My electricity plant 4 and the 715 MW Phu My electricity plant 2.2 will start using gas from the Nam Con Son gas project.
The Nam Con Son gas project has an investment capital of $ 1.3 bn contributed by the Vietnam Oil and Gas Corporation (PetroVietnam), the UK's BPEOC, India's ONGC and the US's Conoco Philips company.
