Turkmenistan reports on gas production

Natural gas production in Turkmenistan increased 3.9 % year-on-year to 32 bn cm in the first half of 2004, while oil production remained unchanged at 4.7 mm tons, a source in the republic's Oil, Gas and Mineral Resource Ministry told.
Of total gas produced, 23.3 bn cm was exported, up 5 % year-on-year. The main importers of Turkmenistani gas were Ukraine, Iran and Russia.

Throughput at Turkmenneftegaz refineries amounted to 3.4 mm tons of oil in January-June, which was 6.3 % more than in the same period last year.
Production of liquefied hydrocarbon gasses increased 50 % to 165,500 tons, with polypropylene production up 26 % to 40,600 tons. This product is mainly exported.

Planned throughput at Turkmenneftegaz refineries amounts to 8.2 mm tons in 2004.
Turkmenistan increased oil production 11 % to 10.004 mm tons in 2003, with natural gas production also up 11 % to 50.09 bn cm. Oil refining increased 19 % to 6.804 mm tons.
