Syria interested in Iranian oil and gas expertise

Visiting Syrian Minister of Oil and Minerals Resources Ibrahim Haddad said that Damascus is interested in access to Iran's experiences in oil, gas and petrochemical sectors, the Oil Ministry's Public Relations Department reported.
In a meeting with his Iranian counterpart, Bijan Namdar Zanganeh, he said the two nations have taken important stride towards expansion political and economic ties. He specifically pointed to Iran's valuable experiences in urban gas-delivery network and provision for CNG fuel for vehicles. Syria is interested in utilizing these knowledge, Haddad underlined. He said his trip to Tehran could be an impetus for deeper understanding of Iran's oil, gas and petrochemical industries saying the contracts signed between the two nations are a token of cordial relations.

For his part, Zanganeh said Tehran and Damascus have forged amicable ties in various areas and expressed hope for closer cooperation in oil and gas sector between two states. He said Iran is prepared to provide Syria with its experiences in gas-delivery network.
He referred to Syrian minister's visit the South Pars Gas Field and petrochemical facilities in southern port of Asalouyeh adding, "Iran is also ready to cooperation with Syria in petrochemical sector." He added expansion of cooperation and ties are Iran policy and the two nations official are also determined to boost bilateral relations.

In related news, Minister of Industries and Mines Es'haq Jahangiri said that Iran has taken up industrial activities in Arab and Muslim states. Jahangiri told the visiting Algerian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Rachid Harraoubia that inauguration of an auto assembly line in Syria is an example of Iran's industrial activities abroad. He said consultations are underway for establishing a cement plant in Syria and a steel mill in Kuwait as well as launching industrial activities in Egypt.
Syrian minister of oil and mineral resources, heading a delegation, is here to attend the 9th International Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Exhibition. The 9th Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Exhibition kicked off at Tehran International Fairground on July 6.
