New oil and gas finds boost Iranian status

New oil and gas discoveries in the country has catapulted Iran into the position of the second holder of oil and gas reserves in the world, the director of the ninth oil and gas exhibition said.
"Iran currently holds 132 bn crude barrels and 27 tcm of gas. Our country enjoys a unique position," Akbar Ne’matollahi told the inaugural of the exhibition. "Our country offers good venues for investment from throughout the world. We have to accomplish our task for securing the reserves," he said.

The ninth international oil, gas and petrochemical exhibition opened with 34 countries being present. Participants from 1,121 companies are displaying their products related to "project management, job creation and financing projects".
The four-day exhibition has seen the number of participating companies rise drastically this year. India, Singapore, Thailand, New Zealand, Pakistan, the Czech Republic, Finland, Poland, Belgium, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, Australia, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Turkey, Spain, France, Russia, Italy, China, Germany, Austria, Japan, South Korea, Norway, Sweden, The Netherlands, Kuwait, Qatar, the United States, Canada, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates were present at the event.
