CNR and partners to spud exploration well off Cote d'Ivoire

CNR and its partners will spud an exploration well on the Acajou North prospect off Cote d'Ivoire, reports UK independent Tullow Oil in its latest review of operations. Development options on the Acajou South discovery will depend on the outcome of the new well.
Construction of the West Espoir development in the same sector is on schedule for first oil in the first half of 2006, Tullow adds, with infill drilling on the Espoir field also due to start early next year.

Elsewhere in West Africa, two development wells with sidetracks are currently being drilled on the Nkossa field offshore the Republic of Congo. Recent drilling work has improved production from the field to 35,000 bpd, offsetting an earlier decline.
In its latest review, BHP Billiton has drilled 12 development wells on the $ 327 mm Angostura oil and gas field off Trinidad's northeast coast, with 10 wells still outstanding. First oil is due by the end of 2004.

In Australia's Otway basin, offshore Victoria, the gas plant forthe company's Minerva development is nearing completion, with all other offshore parts of the project now in place, including the Minerva 3 and 4 wells and all flowlines. Again, first output is imminent.
Finally, Dragon Oil's steady program to ramp up production in the Cheleken Contract Area offshore Turkmenistan continues. A fourth development well has been drilled from the refurbished LAM 21 platform, testing at a total rate of 5,330 bpd from two zones, with encouraging oil shows in numerous other reservoir zones. The jackup drilling rig has since been skidded to well LAM 21/106, suspended last November for technical reasons, to drill a sidetrack targeting the upper reservoir zones 3 and 4.
