Turkmenistan reports on oil and gas extraction

Turkmenistan extracted more than 8 mm tons of oil and 47 bn cm of gas in the first 10 months of 2004.
The Turkmen Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources reports that extraction of oil condensates by the country has increased by 2.9 % while extraction of natural gas has dropped by 0.3 %.

Turkmenistan has sold 33.9 bn cm of Turkmen gas to foreign countries -- 4.4 bn cm to Iran and the remainder to Ukraine and Russia.
The Russian gas monopoly, Gazprom, has been coordinating export deliveries of Turkmen gas to the North via an inter-state Central Asia-Centre oil pipeline this year.

The Turkmen Ministry of Energy and Industry reports that the country’s power stations have generated more than 9.6 kW of electric energy this year, which is 10.6 % more than in 2003.
