Turkey ranked 25th among 30 countries in terms of competitive power during 2003, according to a report by the National Productivity Centre (MPM).
Announcing its 3rd Productivity Report, the MPM said that Turkey ranked 23rd in 2002 and dropped to 25th in 2003 among 30 countries having a population over 20 mm.

The report underlined that Turkey's recession stemmed from macroeconomic instability and low public performance. The United States topped the list of countries followed by Austria and Canada. Turkey had more competitive power than Venezuela, Argentina, Indonesia, Poland and Russia.
In terms of economic performance, Turkey ranked 28th among the 30 countries.
