Iran welcomes Germany's cooperation in power plant projects

Deputy energy minister told the visiting German minister of economy that Iran welcome's participation of German companies in its water and electricity projects.
Reza Amrollahi added that since Iran can sell its electricity through Germany to other European countries, Iran would like Germany to build several power plants in Iran through BOT and BOO schemes.

Referring to previous negotiations on building Bakhtiari dam and power plant by Germany, the official expressed hope that the German side will grant needed facilities to speed up the project.
The deputy minister further noted that there were no more problems for issuing guarantees for implementing infrastructural projects and noted that the visit by Germany's minister of economy and labour indicated both countries willingness to cooperate more in water projects according to BOT (build, operate, transfer) scheme.

The German official, for his part, expressed his country's interest in boosting cooperation with Iran.
He said his country was ready to take part in implementing Bakhtiari dam and power plant project and said a memorandum of understanding must be signed in this regard.
