The Iraqi oil ministry revealed documents including threats of attacking and sabotaging Iraqi oil institutions and containers that transfer oil products out of Iraq.
"The armed groups have distributed announcements in different regions in Iraq, especially in the northern areas, which threatened to attack the containers that transfer oil products out of Iraq, and kidnap drivers and kill them," said an official in the ministry. "The threats targeted also the oil pipelines," he said, adding that these threats aim at stopping the growth of the Iraqi economy and harm the Iraqi citizens.

He also said the group of "Al Tawhid Wal Jihad" led by Jordanian-born Abu Mussaab Al Zarqawi, the most wanted man in Iraq, has distributed a number of those threats of attacking foreign trailers carrying refined oil products.
The armed groups in Iraq carried out many attacks on the trailers carrying fuel and kidnapped many of the drivers under the accusation of transferring fuel for the occupying American forces.
