Gazprom maintains gas supplies to Bulgaria at same level

Dec 14, 2004 01:00 AM

In 2004 Russian gas supplies to Bulgaria will be preserved at the 2003 level, Gazprom told.
"In 2003 2.9 bn cm of Russian gas were delivered to Bulgaria. In 2004 the volume of supplies will remain at this level," it said.

Russia has exported natural gas to Bulgaria since 1974. The exports have fully satisfied the Republic's demand for gas.
As of December 1, 2004, 133 bn cm have been delivered to Bulgaria since the beginning of supplies.

The Gazprom headquarters hosted a routine meeting between Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller and Bulgarian Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Valentin Cerovski.
"The sides discussed cooperation prospects in the sphere of Russian gas supplies and its transit on Bulgarian territory. Alexei Miller and Valentin Cerovski considered cooperation possibilities in the construction of the Burgas-Alexandroupolis oil pipeline," the company reported.

This project was launched by Russia, Bulgaria and Greece. A trilateral working committee was set up in September 2000.
At the moment the committee is involved in technical and economic aspects of the project.
