Arab forum calls for boosting inter-Arab oil and gas investment
The third Arab Petroleum Corporations Forum, in the southern Egyptian city of Aswan, called for boosting inter-Arab
investment in oil and gas sectors.
At its closing session, the forum said more investment should be put in various energy fields to cover production,
refining, marketing and initial economic feasibility studies. It called for cooperation with major oil organizations,
especially the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC), to develop energy resources in Arab
countries.
The forum stressed the necessity of encouraging the private sector to invest in energy fields and noted the need for
boosting Arab cooperation in the field of oil derivatives.
The forum was meant to discuss the prospects for expanding investment in the gas and petroleum sectors in Arab
countries.
