The UK subsidiary of the German firm E.ON has purchased a 392 MW gas fired power station near London for approximately £ 109 mm ($ 207 mm).
E.ON's CEO, Wulf H. Bernotat, said: "With the acquisition of this modern and efficient gas-fired power station in Enfield, we continue to consolidate our leading position as an electricity generator in our core market UK, thus strengthening our position in the British market. This demonstrates that, as planned, we continue to implement our strategy of achieving organic growth in our core markets."

The combined cycle gas turbine power station at Brimsdown, north London was built by Enfield Energy Centre Limited (EECL) and began operation in late 1999.
EECL was established as a 50:50 joint venture between INDECK, an international independent power project developer and operator, and NRG, a subsidiary of Northern States Power, a large US utility.
