Italy’s energy regulator aims to cut Snam Rete’s gas' tariffs

May 06, 2005 02:00 AM

Italy's energy regulator said it wants to cut the return on investment for the country's gas transport companies, including Snam Rete Gas, to 6.2 %-7.1 %.
During the previous four-year period, which ends in September, the allowed rate of return was 7.94 %.

Snam RG, which is controlled by ENI, runs Italy's network of gas pipelines. The proposed tariff plan for the October 2005-September 2008 regulatory period were laid out in a draft document which will be discussed in a hearing with Italy's gas firms, shippers and consumers over the coming weeks.
A final decision will be made after the consultations.
