Norway’s income from natural gas exceeds NOK 100 bn

Apr 10, 2005 02:00 AM

The income from the sale of Norwegian natural gas from the North Sea exceeded NOK 100 bn last year.
Half of this is income from state owned gas from the Norwegian Shelf.

The last two years there has been a strong increase in the price on natural gas, coupled with a strong increase in the demand for Norwegian gas.
Each year Norway delivers an enormous 75 bn cm of gas to Europe. Director Tormod Slaattsveen of the Oil Directorate says Norway is able to deliver gas at the same high rate for the next 20 to 50 years.
