Brazil's national hydrocarbon industry regulator ANP will tender 1,154 blocks in the seventh licensing round scheduled for October, an ANP spokesperson told.
These include 1,134 offshore blocks in 14 sedimentary basins and 20 onshore mature fields. The blocks were approved by the national energy policy council (CNPE), which met in capital Brasilia.

ANP's proposal was fully accepted by the council and full details of the blocks should be published soon, the spokesperson said.
In 2004, ANP tendered 913 blocks in 12 basins in the sixth exploration licensing round. Overall 154 exploration licenses were awarded to 19 companies.
