Gas-fuelled cars burn less fuel

Apr 20, 2005 02:00 AM

Gas-fired vehicles have economized more than 50 mm litres of gasoline in the country in the past calendar year to March.
Amir-Abbas Najafi, advisor for planning of the Fuel Conservation Organization, says economic benefits from converting the fuel system of the vehicles reached $ 3 mm.

Iran is modifying a refinery to increase by 8 mm litres its daily gasoline production to face growing fuel consumption.
Iran is likely to face budget deficit in supplying gasoline to domestic producers.
The price set in Iran's national budget bill and that of world markets may give rise to budgetary shortfall. The country may have to set gasoline prices according to regional conditions.
