ENI and Sonatrach set up joint venture Transmed

ENI and Algerian firm Sonatrach have set up a joint venture company Transmed to market additional natural gas flows carried through the Transmed pipeline linking the North African nation to Italy via Tunisia, ENI said.
The joint venture is part of an agreement announced May.

ENI said in May the capacity of the Transmed pipeline from Algeria stood at 27 bn cm a year and would reach 33.5 bn cm a year by 2012, with an investment of EUR 330 mm by the Italian company.
