Nigeria calls on youths to take up careers in oil and gas industry

Nigeria has put a call on students to focus on careers in the oil and gas sector of the economy where a lot of opportunities abound.
This call was made in Lagos by Dr Ibilola Amao, CEO of Lonadek Oil and Gas Consultants, at an education and awareness creation programme titled “Restoring Hope through Youth Empowerment -Vision 2020”, aimed at counselling the youths on career opportunities in the Oil and Gas industry.

Amao noted that since the discovery of oil in 1956 at Oloibiri, Nigeria has not been able to maximise the benefits and opportunities created by this discovery. This, she said, was because a structured framework to create value and wealth through capacity, capability and competence development has not been well defined and implemented.
She said Nigeria as a country is blessed with human resources and can become the largest exporter of skilled human resource capital if we leverage off the intellectual potentials of our youths.
