Jul 14, 2006 02:00 AM

Venezuela has shown interest in working with Ethiopian investors, especially in the area of the exploration and the extraction of oil and gas.
According to the Venezuelan ambassador, Louis Mariano Joubertt Mata, Venezuela was ready to co-operate with the Ethiopian government in areas of health care, education, energy and various social services for the improvement of people's lives.

Speaking on the occasion of the celebration of the 195th anniversary of Venezuela's independence, Luis Mariano Joubertt Mata said that the Bolivarian Embassy of Venezuela was reopened in February after being closed for 15 years. He said the embassy would strengthen bilateral relations and economic co-operation between the two countries.
"Where we are weak you make us strong. And where you are weak we make you strong," he said.

The embassy was now planning to start teaching Spanish as a second language next year in collaboration with the embassies of Spain and Cuba.
