US thirsty for African oil

Aug 11, 2006 02:00 AM

The US is interested in oil under African lands and aspires to control the huge oil reserves of this continent, experts said.
South Africa's analyst and professor of the Central University of that African country Norman Clark said Washington has big plans to control oil in Africa. Clark, who offered two conferences at Agostinho Neto University in Luanda on the most powerful economic countries of the world, warned that the western countries top officials visits to the African continent go further than humanitarian purposes.

The academic noted that the recent tours of Africa by White House representatives have had the political intention of making their dream come true of controlling African hydrocarbons, gold, and diamonds.
The South African expert explained that the US plans to replace the Persian golf with the Guinea gulf, since Washington knows the oil reserves in that area very well and fears political instability prevailing in the Middle East.
