Implementation of Panama-Venezuela energy projects has started, Panamanian ambassador to Venezuela Elixandro Ballesteros announced. The principal project envisages extension of the trans-Caribbean gas pipeline.
"In a first stage, it will reach Colombia, and then, it will be extended to Panama."

The project was secured as a result of a meeting held in western Zulia state by Presidents Hugo Chavez of Venezuela, Alvaro Uribe of Colombia and Martin Torrijos of Panama, to start laying the gas pipeline.
The official made the remarks in the head offices of Maracaibo Chamber of Commerce, and added that growing bilateral trade exchange has allowed for the establishment or the Venezuelan-Panamanian Integration Chamber.
