Dec 29, 2006 01:00 AM

Brazil's power regulator Aneel has authorized Brazilian power company CPFL Energia to assume control of Sao Paulo power distribution company CLFSC, CPFL said.
Aneel's approval is the final step required to finalize the deal.

CPFL confirmed the value of the transaction at 203 mm reais ($ 95 mm) as announced in early October.
CPFL's wholly owned special purpose company Nova 4 Participacoes bought a 99.99 % stake in 2006 in CLFSC from Brazilian aluminium maker CBA. Also in Sao Paulo, CPFL controls CPFL Piratininga and CPFL Paulista.
