Kazakhstan is interested in purchase of oil and gas capacities in Croatia, said after the meeting with Croatia President Stjepan Mesic Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
"I expressed a request that Croatia could assist in oil and gas capacities privatization and share purchase of oil and gas pipeline system", said Nursultan Nazarbayev. "Kazakhstan has big oil and gas reserves, and we are interested in oil and gas pipelines diversification to penetrate world markets", explained the president. In particular, according to the president, Kazakhstan is ready to participate in the Druzhba-Adria oil pipeline.

Together with both countries leaders underlined that bilateral trade level does not match Croatia and Kazakhstan potentials. According to the data provided by RK Statistics Agency, in 2006 commodity turnover between two countries amounted EUR 5.4 mm, on January-March of 2007 -- EUR 20,2 mm.
"Interconnections between our countries did not achieve the level which could be recognized as satisfying. We are able and should achieve more for Croatia and Kazakhstan profits", underlined Stjepan Mesic.

He said, "in Croatia there is a big interest to develop business cooperation with Kazakhstan however it needs to enlarge legal frames without which the deepening of the cooperation will not exist".
Thus, according to Nursultan Nazarbayev, the heads of states gave priorities to corresponding bodies in short term develop 3 agreements which will be dedicated to deepening of bilateral contacts: agreement on joint investment protection, agreement on double taxation removing and agreement on tourism and sport development.
"We gave orders to prepare such agreements in short time", said Nursultan Nazarbayev.

Kazakhstan’s President also reported that the agreement on consulate service of Kazakhstan in Croatia and Croatia in Kazakhstan establishment was reached which "in time perspective will transform into normal embassies".
Stjepan Mesic underlined that his country supports Kazakhstan bid for OSCE 2009 Presidency.
"We from all the heart support Kazakhstan. This will assist in peace strengthening", said the Croatian leader.
