After recently winning an oil and gas tender in Qatar state oil and gas company Pertamina now wants to win an exploration right in Iran.
"We are bidding for the Laleh Block", Pertamina upstream director Sukusen Soemarinda said, referring to one of 17 oil and gas blocks that the Iranian government has currently put on offer.

Soemarinda said Pertamina has a number of partners in a consortium in its bid to win the project in Iran.
Recently Pertamina teamed up with German-based company Wintershall, a subsidiary of German chemical giant BASF, to secure an exploration rights for an onshore block in Qatar.
