Argentina's government has opened technical offers for a tender to build the 1,200 km, 500 kV NEA-NOA transmission line that will stretch across nine provinces, according to a statement from the presidential office.
Seven companies submitted offers for the project.

The line would cross the following departments: Catamarca, Corrientes, Chaco, Formosa, Jujuy, Misiones, Tucuman, Salta and Santiago del Estero.
IDB will provide nearly $ 1.8 bn to finance the project and the federal government will contribute $ 457 mm. Previous figures published on the cost of the line put it at $ 700 mm, including an IDB loan of $ 580 mm and federal funding of $ 120 mm.

Once constructed, transmission company Transener will have the option of first refusal as line operator of Argentina's high-voltage grid.
