Iran expects rise in oil reserves in Anaran block

Oct 14, 2007 02:00 AM

The volume of oil reserves in the Anaran block will increase to 8 bn barrels from the current 7.4 bn barrels, oil official says. The Anaran block has two oilfields named Changouleh and Azar, Mahmoud Mohaddes the NIOC Director for Exploration said.
"The exploration currently underway in the Changouleh oilfield is cited as the reason for predicting a rise in the reserves of the Anaran block," he added.

Mohaddes predicted that two new oil wells will be drilled in the Changouleh oilfield.
"About 6,000 to 7,000 bpd of oil are currently pumped from the Changouleh oilfield," he said.

The Anaran oil block is located in western Iran.
