Monthly data reported by the Energy Information Administration (EIA) for November 2007 revealed that two countries exported more than 1.500 mm bpd to the United States of America (US). The top five exporting countries worldwide accounted for 74 % of the US’s oil imports in November while the top ten countries accounted for approximately 89 % of all of the US’s crude oil imports (see Table 1).
The top sources of US crude oil imports for November 2007 were Canada (1.919 mm bpd), Saudi Arabia (1.530 mm bpd), Mexico (1.484 mm bpd), Nigeria (1.245 mm bpd), and Venezuela (1.227 mm bpd). The rest of the top ten countries, in order, were Iraq (0.508 mm bpd), Angola (0.408 mm bpd), Colombia (0.197 mm bpd), Algeria (0.184 mm bpd), and Ecuador (0.154 mm bpd).

Total crude oil imports averaged 9.978 mm bpd in November 2007, which is an increase of 0.202 mm bpd compared to October 2007.
Canada remained the largest exporter of total petroleum in November 2007, exporting 2.431 mm bpd (see Table 2) to the US, which is an increase compared to October 2007 (2.411 mm bpd). The second largest exporter of total petroleum was Saudi Arabia with 1.620 mm bpd.
