Turkmenistan starts development of new gas field
The development of new wells and land infrastructure was stepped up in the Gurrukbil-Garabil field located in the
Takhtabazar region in Mariy province. Works are being carried out by specialists of subordinate organizations of the
Turkmengaz and Turkmenneftegazstroy state concerns.
The launch of this field will enable Turkmenistan to increase gas output by 2 bn cm per year by the end of 2009 and to bring the production to 4 bn cm of gas by the end of 2010.
