Norway's Emtunga returns as Leirvik Emtunga
Norwegian offshore services outfit Leirvik Module Technology is set to become a major offshore living quarters player
after snapping up the intellectual property rights, archives and databases of bankrupt rival Emtunga Offshore, and
setting up a new unit, Leirvik Emtunga.
Emtunga Offshore was forced to apply for bankruptcy last December after its biggest customer MPF Corporation declared
insolvency.
Leivik boss Harald Karlsson said: "We have acquired the former Emtunga Offshore's intellectual property rights,
archives, databases and so on from the bankrupt estate and founded Leirvik Emtunga."
"By having onboard the main core of Emtunga's highly motivated staff members, we have taken a major step in our
long-term strategy," he added.
He added that Emtunga's modular steel living quarters concept had proved to be a very successful and competitive
solution on the international market, where Emtunga was the marked leader.
"By founding Leirvik Emtunga AB and re-establishing the businessin Vara, Sweden, we will have both the product and
the market knowledge and contacts needed for Leirvik to become the leading provider of living quarters worldwide," he
added.
