CPFL Energia estimates capex through 2013 at $ 2.10 bn
Brazilian power holding company CPFL Energia's estimated capex through 2013 is reais 5 bn ($ 2.10 bn), CEO Wilson
Ferreira Junior announced.
Of the total, reais 4.2 bn will go to distribution and the remainder to generation.
CPFL's capex this year will exceed reais 1.2 bn, with reais 738 mm for distribution, reais 429 mm for hydro
generation and reais 68 mm for thermo generation, the executive said.
Last year's capex totalled roughly reais 1 bn, Ferreira added.
One hydro project under construction is the 436 MW Foz do Chapeco plant, which is 60 % complete and on time, the CEO
said. The 1.33 bn-real project is due to come online next year.
CPFL holds a 51 % stake in the project, federal energy company Furnas 40 % and power company CEEE the remaining 9 %.
