After having received an order for fertilizer plant from Middle East earlier, Samsung Engineering won a refinery unit project in Central and South America.
Samsung Engineering announced that a $ 220 mm $ Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel Unit plant project order was given by Petrotrin, (Petroleum Company of Trinidad and Tobago) a national oil company.

The plant will be constructed in Pointe-a-Pierre refinery complex which is located 38 km south to Port-of Spain, the capital of Trinidad and Tobago. This facility will be producing 40,000 barrel of ultra low sulphur diesel per day and the sulphur content will be under 8 ppm complying with EURO-V standards.
This project will be executed as a Lump-Sum Turn Key basis that includes all engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning and its expected completion is in March 2012.

President and CEO Yeon-Joo Jung said, "The importance of environmental policies have been emphasized globally, and the sulphur content has been enforced downward significantly in gasoline and diesel, and, "Samsung Engineering will actively react to increasing demands for desulphurization facility that has multi-billion dollars of CAPEX every year with our differentiated experiences and trusts from our clients."
In 2006, Samsung entered the Caribbean market with NHT/CCR plant awarded from Petrotrin, which is expected to complete this year end. Through this repeated order, Samsung Engineering can utilize its current resource efficiently including construction equipments, materials and man power.

Trinidad and Tobago is rich in natural resources including oil and gas.
Samsung Engineering is planning to enlarge its coverage of new orders and business portfolios in central and south America with its diverse project experiences in Mexico and Venezuela and this ULSD project.
