Kazakhstan increases oil production by 6.4 %

From January to June 2010, Kazakhstan produced 39.2 mm tons of crude, an increase of 6.4 % over the same period in 2009, Kazakhstan Statistics Agency Chairman Alikhan Smailov said.

Smailov said that gas production in the country rose 5.1 % to 18.5 bn cm of gas over the same period.
"From January to June of the current year, 39.2 mm tons of crude and 18.5 bn cm of gas was produced", Smailov said.
