Iran’s petrochemical products estimated to rise by 5 bn tons
The production capacity of petrochemical products is estimated to rise by another five mm tons this Iranian calendar
year 1389 (started on 21 March 2010), Iranian petroleum minister announced.
Addressing at the inauguration ceremony of the seventh edition of the Iran Plast exhibition, Iranian petroleum
minister, Dr Seyed Masoud Mirkazemi, said that Iran's petrochemical industry with a production capacity of 50 mm tons
has achieved a good record and under five year development plan (2010-2015) is scheduled to increase the figure to 95
mm tpy.
Mirkazemi said that in petrochemical industry, many chains are active and we are needed to increase these chains. The
petroleum minister stipulated that increasing active chains in petrochemical industry have prepared the ground for
creating jobs amid increasing value added for the economy.
Iran Plast is the largest and most important exhibition in different fields of petrochemical products, materials,
machineries and services in Iran and one of the most magnificent ones in the Middle East and Asia.
