The Oil and Gas Construction Trust has won a tender to rebuild the Georgian section of a pipeline that carries gas from Russia to Armenia. The trust is a business unit of Azerbaijan's state oil company SOCAR. It beat Stemcor AG, the Swiss-based pipeline arm of British company Stemcor, and Georgia's New Energy company to win the tender. The tender was held by the Millennium Challenge Georgia Fund to reconstruct and equip the Georgian part of the North-South  Gas Pipeline. The pipeline was built in 1970. The tender requires the Azerbaijani company to provide $ 6 mm worth pipes and equipment for the reconstruction work within 120 days.
