The Ministry of Petroleum and Energy announced the allocation of production licences in the licensing round encompassing mature areas on the Norwegian continental shelf (APA 2012). Det norske oljeselskap was awarded eight new licences, three of these as operator. In total 40 companies were offered shares in the 51 new production licences in the North Sea, the Norwegian Sea and the Barents Sea.

'Det norske is very pleased with the allocation. 'By awarding Det norske shares in eight licences the Ministry proves trust in us a company. We are especially satisfied with the role as operator in our first priority', comments Sr. VP Exploration Bjørn Martinsen. 'It is very positive that we by this strengthen our established core areas.'
