Iran, Azerbaijan to promote energy cooperation

Iranian companies, participating in the 21st International Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition in Azerbaijan Republic, are seriously in talks with Azeri firms to promote energy ties and cooperation.

A total of 10 Iranian companies active in oil and gas projects have attended in the event.

“This is the first time that the Iranian companies in such number and jointly take part in Azerbaijan’s oil and gas exhibition and the evidence indicate the success of the talks so that over 60 percent of the Iranian firms participating the exhibition have reached the stage of draft agreement,” Coordinator for Iranian companies participating in the exhibition Amir Zand said.

Iran has recently enhanced efforts to boost political, economic, security and cultural ties and cooperation with the regional and neighboring countries, specially the Central Asian states, including the republic of Azerbaijan.
