Centrica makes Norwegian sea gas discovery – NPD

Dec 10, 2014 12:00 AM

Britain’s Centrica has made a small gas discovery northeast of the Aasta Hansteen field in the Norwegian sea, the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate said.

Preliminary calculations showed the find contains between two and eight billion standard cubic metres of recoverable gas, but it was not yet possible to determine if the discovery is economically viable, it said.

Licence partners include Centrica (40 percent), Statoil (35 percent), Atlantic Petroleum (15 percent) and Rocksource (10 percent).
