Azerbaijan to carry out exploitation of oil field in Iraq

Azerbaijan will carry out exploitation of oil field in Iraq, said the Energy Minister Natig Aliyev.

“Iraq is interested in Azerbaijan. Therefore, Iraqi oil minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi and I signed Memorandum of Understanding.

According to Memorandum, Azerbaijani Energy Ministry and State Oil Company of Azerbaijan and Iraqi National Oil Company establish joint group. We planned to carry out exploitation of an oil field in Iraq. Moreover, we made proposal to Iraqi side for participation in the projects implementing in Azerbaijan. We’ll continue talks in this direction”, he minister said.

On June 2 Natig Aliyev, Rovnag Abdullayev and Adil Abdul-Mahdi held a meeting. The ministers signed MoU on development of oil and gas projects in Iraq.
